Next Wave’s Young Artistic Directorate has curated a durational art party to celebrate 40 years of Next Wave. Dress however you like. Bring whoever you want. Be ready to explore the past, present and future of Next Wave.
The ‘during:next’ party will transform Brunswick Mechanics into a futuristic performance space. There will be vinyl and digital DJs, live performances, and quiet moments for reflection, spanning the history of Next Wave. It will be a delight for all the senses, and a space for everyone – snacks included.
6pm - Doors open
6.15pm - Welcome to Country

6.45pm - NŪ and Yang (Live Performers) and food served
7.30pm - Speech (PRESENT)
8.00pm - Kudakwashe (Live Performer)

Access information
- This event will have Auslan available across the evening for socialising and interpreting.
- The Theatre space at Brunswick Mechanics will have speeches, music, dancing, bright and coloured lighting (no flash or strobe) and some haze. There will be haptic vests available in this space, and you can indicate if you would like to use one upon registration.
- The Studio space will be a chill out area for conversation with low lighting and soft furnishings. There will be sensory kits and fidget toys available for anyone who needs them and staff on hand to support. Face masks, hand sanitiser and ear plugs will be available on the door and we will have one air purifier in each space.

- Snacks will be provided. Due to the experimental nature of this event and the limited resources on site, we are unable to offer alternative menu items. Please include any allergies/dietaries when purchasing a ticket.
- Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase from the bar.
